Plan your weekly meals on a visual 7-day grid. Auto-generate a grocery list from your ingredients and save favorite meals to a personal library.

Meal Planner for the Whole Week

Meal Planner is a visual weekly meal planner that lays out what to eat for every day on a clean 7-day grid. Plan Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snack for each day, then turn that plan into a ready-to-use grocery list in one click.

As you add meals, the tool automatically collects their ingredients into a shopping list grouped by category and totals the quantities across the whole week. Save your go-to dishes to a personal library, drag cards between days, fill empty slots at random, plan across multiple weeks, and export the grid as an image — so weekly meal planning takes minutes, not an afternoon.

It is built for busy households, anyone doing weekly meal prep, and roommates or families coordinating who cooks what.

Private by design: your plans, library, settings, and shopping items are saved only in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

How to Plan Your Week

1

Add meals

Click any empty slot or the + Add button to open the meal editor. Type a meal name and, optionally, add ingredients with quantities and units.

2

Organize your week

Drag and drop meal cards between days and meal types to rearrange the plan. Hover over a card to duplicate or delete it.

3

Reuse from your library

Check Save to library when adding a meal. Next time, open From Library to drop in saved meals without retyping anything.

4

Generate the shopping list

Open Shopping List to see every ingredient grouped by category with quantities totaled. Tick items off as you shop and add custom items for extra groceries.

5

Save and manage plans

Click Save Plan to name it, then use the plan selector to switch between saved plans or start a New Plan.

Quick options: use Random Fill to populate empty slots from your library, Export Image to download the grid as a PNG, and the gear menu to show or hide meal types, rename their labels, and turn on multi-week navigation.

Features

7-Day Weekly Grid

A visual grid from Monday to Sunday with Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snack rows. Each cell holds multiple meals and the current day is highlighted.

Drag and Drop

Move meal cards between days and meal types in seconds — shift a breakfast to dinner or swap dishes across days without retyping.

Meal Library

Build a personal collection of favorite meals with their ingredients, then search and reuse them across weeks. Each item shows its meal-type tag.

Auto-Generated Shopping List

Ingredients are collected into categories — Vegetables & Fruits, Meat & Seafood, Dairy & Eggs, Grains & Bread, Sauces & Condiments, and Other — with matching quantities summed.

Custom Shopping Items

Add extras that are not part of any recipe. Custom items persist between sessions, so your additional groceries are always remembered.

Multiple Saved Plans

Create and name multiple meal plans, switch between them instantly from the selector, and let each one auto-save as you make changes.

Multi-Week Navigation

Turn on multi-week mode to plan beyond one week, move forward and back between weeks, jump to Today, and copy a full week to the next.

Random Fill

Populate empty slots with picks from your library. It matches meal types first — breakfast items into breakfast slots — for a realistic plan.

Export as Image

Download the weekly plan as a PNG to share with family, print for the fridge, or keep for reference.

Customizable Settings

Show or hide meal types, rename them with custom labels, and toggle multi-week navigation from the settings panel.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I plan meals for the whole week?

Click any slot in the 7-day grid to add a meal for that day and meal type. Fill the days you want manually, or use Random Fill to drop saved meals into the remaining empty slots. The whole week stays visible at a glance.

Can it make a grocery list from my plan?

Yes. Open Shopping List and the tool collects every ingredient from the current week's meals, groups them by category, and totals the quantities. If the same ingredient appears in several meals, its amounts are added together. Tick items off as you shop and copy the whole list to your clipboard.

Can I plan breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

Yes. Each day has Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snack rows. In the settings (gear icon) you can show or hide any of these meal types and rename them — for example change "Breakfast" to "Morning" or "Snack" to "Dessert".

How do I move a meal to another day?

Drag the meal card and drop it on a different day or meal type — it moves instantly. On a phone, tap a meal to edit it and swipe sideways to see more days. Hover over a card to duplicate or delete it.

How many days or weeks can I plan?

The grid covers all seven days of the week by default. Enable Multi-week calendar in settings to plan beyond a single week: navigation arrows move between weeks, the Today button jumps back, and Copy week duplicates your plan into the next week.

How does Random Fill work?

Random Fill picks meals from your library and places them into empty slots. It matches meal types first — meals tagged "Breakfast" go into breakfast slots — and falls back to the full library when there is no matching type. Slots that already have a meal are left untouched.

Is my meal plan data saved and private?

Yes to both. Your plans, library, settings, and custom shopping items are stored automatically in your own browser and persist across refreshes and restarts. Nothing is uploaded to any server, so your meal plans stay private to you.
