Time Converter for Every Unit
This time converter turns any value from one time unit into another, instantly and accurately. Type a number, pick a source unit, and read the answer the moment you stop typing — no button to press, nothing to install.
It covers 15 units across four groups: Metric (nanosecond, microsecond, millisecond, second), Common (minute, hour, day, week), Calendar (month, year, decade, century, millennium), and Special (fortnight, quarter). That makes it useful for everyday math, project planning, scientific timing, and software work alike.
How to Convert Time Units
Enter a value
Type a number in the left input field, such as 60. Negative numbers and decimals both work.
Pick the source unit
Open the left dropdown and choose the unit you are converting from, for example Second. Use the search box inside the dropdown to find a unit fast.
Pick the target unit
Choose the unit you want in the right dropdown, for example Minute. The result appears instantly. Tap Swap units to reverse the direction.
Read and copy
Below the converter, the same value is shown in every unit at once. Copy a single row, or use Copy All Results to grab them together.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many minutes are in an hour?
There are 60 minutes in an hour. Enter 1 with the source unit set to Hour and the result row for Minute shows 60.
How do I convert hours to minutes?
Type the number of hours, set the source unit to Hour, and set the target unit to Minute. The result appears as you type — each hour is 60 minutes.
How many seconds are in a day?
A day holds 86,400 seconds (24 hours × 60 minutes × 60 seconds). Enter 1 Day and read the Second row.
How do I convert seconds to milliseconds?
Set the source unit to Second and the target to Millisecond. One second equals 1,000 milliseconds, so 2 seconds becomes 2,000 ms.
How many seconds are in a year?
About 31,556,952 seconds. The converter uses the Gregorian average of 365.2425 days per year, which accounts for leap years over the long run.
What length is a month here?
A month uses the average length of about 30.44 days (365.25 days ÷ 12). This keeps general conversions consistent, even though real calendar months run from 28 to 31 days.
What are a fortnight and a quarter?
A fortnight is exactly 14 days (2 weeks), common in the UK for pay periods. A quarter is 3 months, used in business and finance for fiscal periods (Q1–Q4).
Can I convert negative time values?
Yes. Negative numbers are accepted, which is handy for time differences and relative offsets. The result keeps the same sign in every unit.
Why do some results show scientific notation?
Very large or very small numbers switch to scientific notation (for example 3.1557e+10) so they stay readable. This happens for results in the tens of billions or below about a millionth.
