Calorie Burn Calculator

Calorie Burn Calculator

Estimate calories burned for 60+ exercises and activities using MET values from the 2024 Compendium of Physical Activities.

Calories Burned Calculator for Any Activity

This calories burned calculator estimates how many calories you burn during exercise or everyday activity. Enter your weight, pick an activity, and set the duration to see your calorie burn instantly. It works for 60+ activities across cardio, cycling, swimming, strength, sports, and more.

Each estimate uses the MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values from the 2024 Compendium of Physical Activities, applied with the formula Calories = MET × Weight (kg) × Duration (hours). You can also stack several activities into one workout session and watch the running total, making it handy for tracking a full gym visit or a mixed-cardio day.

Private by design: every calculation runs in your browser. Only your weight and unit choice are kept in your browser's local storage for next time — nothing is uploaded to a server.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are calories burned calculated?

The calculator uses the MET formula: Calories = MET × Weight (kg) × Duration (hours). Each activity has a MET value — the energy cost relative to rest — so multiplying it by your weight and how long you exercised gives an estimate of the calories you burned.

How many calories does walking, running, or cycling burn?

It depends on your weight and pace. Moderate walking has a MET of about 3.3, running at 6 mph is around 9.8, and moderate cycling is roughly 6.8. Select the specific pace from the activity list and set your duration, and the calculator returns the exact estimate for you.

Does body weight affect calories burned?

Yes. Calorie burn is directly proportional to body weight. A heavier person expends more energy doing the same activity at the same intensity, because it takes more energy to move a larger body mass. That is why the calculator asks for your weight.

How accurate is this calories burned calculator?

Estimates are based on MET values from the 2024 Compendium of Physical Activities and are generally accurate within about ±15–20%. Real-world burn varies with fitness level, body composition, age, and environmental conditions, so treat the result as a close estimate rather than an exact measurement.

Can I track multiple activities in one session?

Yes. After each calculation, tap Add to Session to build a multi-activity workout log. The session shows every activity with its duration, MET value, and calories, plus a running total. You can remove a single entry or clear the whole session.

Why isn't my exact activity in the list?

The calculator covers 60+ of the most common activities. If yours isn't listed, pick the closest match by similar intensity and movement pattern. The search box helps you spot related options quickly.

Is my data stored or shared?

No. All calculations happen entirely in your browser. Only your weight and unit preference are saved to your browser's local storage for convenience — no data is sent to any server.
