A Daily Expense Tracker for Your Everyday Spending
The Daily Spending Tracker is an online daily expense tracker that lets you log what you spend by category, day by day. Pick a category, type the amount, add an optional note, and your spending is recorded — no app to install and no spreadsheet to set up.
Tracking your spending is the first step to better money habits. Logging each expense as it happens shows you where your money goes, lets you set a daily budget with a color-coded progress bar, and turns weeks of entries into monthly and yearly charts that reveal real trends.
It is built for anyone who wants a quick, no-fuss way to keep track of money spent each day — students managing an allowance, professionals logging work costs, or families watching the household budget.
How to Track Your Daily Spending
Add an expense
Tap Add Expense, choose a category from the grid (Food, Transport, Shopping, and more), enter the amount — thousand separators appear automatically — add an optional note, then press Enter or tap Save.
Move between days
Use the arrow buttons to step to the previous or next day, or tap the date to open a calendar picker and jump straight to any day you want to review.
Set a daily budget
Tap the Set budget control, enter your daily limit, and save. A progress bar fills as you spend and changes color — green when you are on track, yellow once you pass 75%, and red when you go over budget.
Review monthly & yearly stats
Switch to the Monthly tab to see your total, daily average, and transaction count, a category breakdown, a daily spending chart, and a yearly overview comparing all 12 months — then tap Export CSV if you want the data as a spreadsheet.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I track daily expenses with this tool?
Tap Add Expense, pick a category, type the amount, and save — optionally with a note. Each entry is logged against the day you are viewing, and you can step through days with the arrows or the calendar picker. There is nothing to install and no sign-up required to start.
Is there a free online expense tracker without an app?
Yes — this is exactly that. The Daily Spending Tracker runs in your browser, so you can log daily spending from your phone or computer with no download. Open the page, start adding expenses, and your records stay saved on your device.
Where is my spending data stored?
Your data is stored locally in your browser by default. If you sign in to your account, it is synced to the cloud so you can reach the same records from any device. If you are not signed in, clearing your browser data will remove your records, so sign in to keep them safe.
How do I categorize my daily expenses?
Eight categories are built in — Food, Transport, Shopping, Entertainment, Bills, Health, Education, and Other. Tap Manage below the category grid to rename a category, change its color from a palette of 12, hide defaults you do not use, or add your own custom categories.
Can I hide categories I do not use?
Yes. In the category manager, tap the eye icon next to any default category to hide it from the selection grid. Existing entries in that category are preserved — the category is just removed from the quick-select grid.
Can I change the currency?
Yes. Use the currency dropdown in the daily summary card to choose from 40+ currencies. The tool automatically adjusts number formatting, including decimal places and where the symbol sits. Your starting currency is detected from your browser locale.
What does the budget progress bar mean?
The bar shows how much of your daily budget you have spent. It stays green while you are on track, turns yellow once you pass 75% of the limit, and turns red when you go over budget.
How do I export my spending data?
Switch to the Monthly tab and tap Export CSV. The current month's records download as a CSV file you can open in any spreadsheet application.
Can I view spending from previous months or years?
Yes. In the Monthly tab, tap the month label to open a month and year picker, or use the arrow buttons to move between months. The yearly overview chart shows all 12 months for the selected year so you can compare them at a glance.
