Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the time displayed?
The time shown is based on your device's system clock and the browser's built-in timezone database. As long as your computer or phone has the correct time set, all displayed times will be accurate. The clocks update every second to show real-time information.
Why does my local time show incorrectly?
If your local time appears wrong, check your device's time settings. World Clock relies on your system clock for the base time. Make sure your device is set to the correct timezone and has automatic time synchronization enabled.
Can I add the same city multiple times?
No, each timezone can only appear once in your display. If you try to add a location that's already present, it will show a checkmark indicating it's been added. To track the same timezone with different labels, consider adding a nearby city in the same timezone.
What happens to my clocks if I clear my browser data?
Your clock selections and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. If you clear your browsing data (including local storage), your saved clocks will be reset to the default. Only your local time clock will remain, and you'll need to add other locations again.
How do I know if it's a different day in another timezone?
Each clock card displays a day indicator in the footer. If a location is in a different calendar day than your local time, it will show "Tomorrow" or "Yesterday" instead of "Today". The time difference badge (e.g., "+9h") also helps you understand the offset.
Can I remove my local time clock?
No, the local time clock is always displayed as a reference point. It's visually distinguished with a special border and a "You" badge. All other clocks can be removed by clicking the X button when hovering over them.
Why can't I find a specific city?
The timezone database uses major cities to represent each timezone. If you can't find a small town, search for the nearest major city in the same timezone, or use the country browser to find the correct timezone. You can also search by UTC offset (e.g., "+7") to find matching timezones.
Do the clocks account for Daylight Saving Time?
Yes, World Clock automatically handles Daylight Saving Time (DST) transitions. The browser's timezone database includes DST rules for each location. When a timezone transitions into or out of DST, the displayed time and UTC offset will update automatically.
How many clocks can I add?
There's no hard limit on the number of clocks you can add. However, for practical usability, the display works best with 4-8 clocks. Adding too many may require scrolling and make quick comparison more difficult.
Does this tool work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded, World Clock works entirely offline. All time calculations use your device's built-in timezone data. The only feature requiring internet is the initial load of the country list when adding new clocks.
Why do some countries have multiple timezones?
Large countries often span multiple timezones. For example, the United States has Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones. Russia has 11 timezones. When you select a country, you'll see all available timezones within that country.
Can I share my clock setup with others?
Currently, clock configurations are stored locally and cannot be shared via link. Each user's setup is independent and saved only in their own browser.
