What is Multi Timer?
Multi Timer is a web-based tool that lets you run multiple countdown timers simultaneously. Whether you're cooking a meal with different dishes, managing workout intervals, or practicing the Pomodoro technique, this tool helps you track multiple time-sensitive tasks at once.
Unlike single timer apps, Multi Timer allows you to create, name, and color-code as many timers as you need. Each timer operates independently, so you can start, pause, and reset them individually or control all timers at once with global actions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many timers can I create?
There is no fixed limit. You can create as many timers as you need. The grid layout automatically adjusts to accommodate additional timers, though very large numbers may affect browser performance.
Will my timers keep running if I close the browser?
No. Timers require the browser tab to remain open to continue counting. If you close the tab or browser, timers will pause. However, your timer configurations (names, durations, colors) are saved and will be restored when you return.
Can I run timers in the background?
Yes, timers continue running when the tab is in the background. When a timer completes, you'll hear the alarm sound (if your device's audio is enabled) and see a notification when you return to the tab.
How do I stop the alarm?
When a timer completes, a modal appears with two options: click OK to dismiss, or Restart to reset and start the timer again. You can also click outside the modal to dismiss it. If repeat alarm is enabled, the sound will continue until you dismiss the modal.
Are my timers saved if I refresh the page?
Yes. Timer configurations and settings are automatically saved to your browser's local storage. When you refresh or return to the page, your timers will be restored. Note that running timers will be paused upon refresh.
Can I use this on my phone?
Yes. Multi Timer is fully responsive and works on mobile devices. The layout adapts to smaller screens, and all controls are touch-friendly.
Why is there no sound when a timer completes?
Check these common causes:
- Your device volume may be muted or too low
- Sound effects may be disabled in Settings - toggle it on
- Some browsers require user interaction before playing audio - try clicking anywhere on the page first
- Browser tab audio may be muted - check the tab icon for a mute indicator
How do I change the alarm sound?
Open the Settings panel by clicking the gear icon. In the "Alarm sound" dropdown, select from the available options: Success, Microwave, Level Complete, or Victory. You can preview each sound before making your selection.
What's the difference between the color options?
Colors are purely visual and help you organize timers by category. For example, you might use blue for work tasks, green for breaks, and orange for cooking. The color appears on the badge of each timer card.
Can I edit a timer while it's running?
You can change the name and color while a timer runs. To change the duration, you'll need to pause or reset the timer first, then enter edit mode to adjust the time.
