Holiday Calendar for 199 Countries
The Holiday Calendar lets you browse public holidays, bank holidays, and observances for 199 countries from one place. Pick a country, choose a year, and see every official day off laid out by month with the next upcoming holiday at the top.
It is built for travelers checking dates at a destination, remote workers coordinating with international teams, and anyone planning around a foreign market's schedule. Holiday names appear in each country's official language with an English translation underneath when the two differ.
How to Use the Holiday Calendar
Select a country
Click the country button to open the dropdown. Type in the search box to find a country by its local name, English name, or two-letter country code such as US or JP. By default the calendar opens on a country matching your language setting.
Navigate years
Use the left and right arrows next to the year to move between 2024 and 2030. The holiday list updates instantly each time you change the year.
Filter by type
Use the tabs to narrow the list to All, Public, Bank, School, Optional, or Observance. Each tab shows a count, and tabs with no matching holidays are hidden to keep the view clean.
Browse the list
Holidays are grouped by month. Each entry shows the date and weekday, the holiday name, and a color-coded type badge. When you view the current year, a Next Holiday banner counts down to your next public or bank day off.

Tabs focus the list on a single type and show a count badge. Tabs with zero matching holidays are hidden automatically.
Server-Side Rendering
Your default country's list loads with the page itself, with no wait for scripts to fetch data and no layout shift.
Country Flag Icons
Each country shows its flag in both the selector and the dropdown list, making it quick to spot the one you want.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find public holidays for my country?
Open the country button, search by name or country code, and select your country. The list shows every holiday for the chosen year, and you can use the Public tab to see official days off only. The calendar already opens on a country matching your language setting.
How many countries are supported?
The Holiday Calendar covers 199 countries and territories, from major economies to small island nations. The holiday data is built from the open-source date-holidays library.
What is the difference between public and bank holidays?
Public holidays are official days off recognized by the government, when most workers and schools are closed. Bank holidays specifically affect banks and financial institutions. The two often overlap, but a country can mark a day as one without the other.
What is the difference between public holidays and observances?
Public holidays are official days off. Observances are commemorative or awareness days, such as Valentine's Day or Earth Day, that are noted on the calendar but are not official days off.
Can I see holidays for next year?
Yes. Use the year arrows to move between 2024 and 2030, so you can plan ahead for an upcoming year or look back at past dates. The list refreshes instantly when you change the year.
Why are some holiday names not in English?
Holiday names are shown in each country's local language to reflect how they are officially known. When the local name differs from English, an English translation is displayed underneath.
What does a substitute holiday mean?
A substitute holiday is added when an official holiday falls on a weekend and the government designates a nearby weekday as the replacement day off, so the public holiday is not lost.
Is the holiday data accurate?
The data is generated from the well-maintained date-holidays library, which is updated regularly. Governments can still announce changes after the data was generated, so for critical scheduling always confirm against official government sources.
