WiFi QR Code Generator

WiFi QR Code Generator

Create a QR code for your WiFi network. Guests scan once and connect instantly — no passwords to type.

WiFi QR Code Generator

A WiFi QR code lets guests and customers connect to your network instantly — no typing passwords, no reading out long strings of characters. Enter your network name (SSID), password, and encryption type, and the code is ready in seconds.

Privacy by design: the entire process runs in your browser. Your network name and password are never uploaded to any server — they exist only in your current browser tab.

Common Use Cases

Cafés & Restaurants

Print a table card so customers connect in one scan instead of asking staff for the password.

Home & Guest Networks

Frame a code by the door so visitors join your WiFi without you reading out a complex password.

Offices & Events

Display the code in meeting rooms and at venues so attendees get online the moment they arrive.

How to Create a WiFi QR Code

1

Enter Your Network Name

Type the exact name of your WiFi network (SSID). This is case-sensitive, so make sure it matches exactly what appears in your router settings or your device's WiFi list.

2

Enter the Password

Enter your WiFi password. If the network has no password, leave this field empty and select None as the encryption type.

3

Choose Encryption & Hidden Network

Select your router's security protocol: WPA/WPA2 (recommended for modern routers), WEP (older routers only), or None (open networks). If your SSID is not broadcast, check Hidden Network.

4

Customize & Download

Open Customize to change colors, dot style, or add a logo. When ready, choose PNG, SVG, or JPG and download, or copy the code to your clipboard.

Treat the code like the password. Anyone who scans it can connect. The password is encoded inside but not shown as plain text — share the code with the same care as the password itself.

Features

All Encryption Types & Hidden Networks

Generate WiFi codes for WPA/WPA2, WEP, and open networks. The correct encoding is applied automatically based on your selection, and networks that don't broadcast their SSID are fully supported via the hidden-network flag.

Network TypeEncoded Format
WPA/WPA2WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyNetwork;P:password;;
WEPWIFI:T:WEP;S:MyNetwork;P:password;;
No passwordWIFI:T:nopass;S:MyNetwork;;
Hidden WPAWIFI:T:WPA;S:MyNetwork;P:password;H:true;;

Why It Works So Well

Native Camera Scanning

Recognized by the built-in camera on iOS 11+ and Android 10+. Point, scan, and connect in one step — no third-party scanner.

Hidden Network Support

Enable the hidden-network flag and the code prompts devices to search for and connect to a non-broadcast SSID.

Privacy by Design

All generation happens in your browser. Your network name and password are never transmitted to any server.

Full Visual Customization

Colors & Style

Color presets or custom foreground/background, plus square, rounded, or circle dot styles.

Logo & Frame

Embed a venue logo in the center and add a framed call-to-action like "SCAN TO CONNECT".

Multi-Format Export

Download PNG, SVG, or JPG from 256px to 2048px — SVG scales to any print size losslessly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which devices can scan WiFi QR codes?

Smartphones running iOS 11 or later and Android 10 or later can scan WiFi QR codes natively with the built-in camera. No additional app is required — just point and scan.

Is my WiFi password stored or transmitted?

No. The code is generated entirely in your browser. Your password is never sent to any server and is not stored anywhere outside your current browser session.

What encryption type should I choose?

WPA/WPA2 is the correct choice for virtually all modern home and office routers. Use WEP only if your router doesn't support WPA. Select None for open guest networks with no password.

What is a hidden network?

A hidden network doesn't broadcast its SSID in the list of available networks. Devices must know the exact name to connect. If your network is hidden, enable the Hidden Network option so the code instructs the device to connect without first discovering it.

Why doesn't the code work on my older phone?

WiFi QR scanning requires iOS 11+ or Android 10+. On older devices, use a third-party scanner that supports the WIFI: format, such as Google Lens or a dedicated QR reader.

Can I display the code without revealing the password?

The password is encoded inside the code but is not visible as plain text. However, anyone who scans the code can connect — so treat the code with the same care as sharing the password directly.
