Email QR Code Generator
An email QR code turns a scan into a pre-filled email. Set the recipient address, subject line, and body text — when someone scans the code, their email app opens with everything filled in, ready to send with a single tap. No typing the address, no hunting for the right subject, no copy-paste errors.

How to Create an Email QR Code
Enter the Recipient Address
Type the email address that will receive the message. This is the only required field — a valid email address is enough to generate a working QR code.
Add a Subject Line (Optional)
Pre-filling the subject saves the user from writing one. Use a clear, specific subject like "Product Feedback" or "Support Request" to keep your inbox organized.
Add Body Text (Optional)
Include template text to guide the user — a feedback prompt or a short form they fill in. Keep it concise; long body text raises the QR code's data density and makes it harder to scan.
Customize & Download
Open Customize to apply brand colors, change the dot style, or add a logo. Then download as PNG, SVG, or JPG, or copy the QR code straight to your clipboard.
Features
Standard mailto: Format
The QR code encodes a mailto: URI — the universal standard for pre-filled email links. It opens the default email app on iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS, so users on desktop can also scan with their phone and reply from there.
| Scenario | Encoded URI |
|---|---|
| Recipient only | mailto:[email protected] |
| With subject | mailto:[email protected]?subject=Hello |
| Full message | mailto:[email protected]?subject=Hi&body=Message here |

Frequently Asked Questions
Which email apps support the mailto: format?
All major email clients support the mailto: URI scheme — including Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo Mail, Thunderbird, and Samsung Email. It is a universally supported web standard.
Does scanning send the email automatically?
No. Scanning opens the email app with the fields pre-filled. The user reviews the draft and taps Send when ready. Nothing is sent without a deliberate action.
Can I include multiple recipients?
You can add multiple addresses comma-separated in the To field (e.g., [email protected],[email protected]). Most email clients interpret comma-separated addresses correctly.
Can I add CC or BCC fields?
The mailto: standard supports cc= and bcc= parameters. This generator focuses on To, Subject, and Body — for CC/BCC, advanced users can construct the full mailto string manually.
What if the user has no email app installed?
On most devices, the OS prompts the user to set up an email account or open a web-based client. If no email handler is configured at all, the link may not open anything.
How long can the body text be?
There is no strict limit, but keep the body under a few hundred characters for a clean, easy-to-scan code. Very long text produces a dense QR that may scan unreliably. A character counter shows your current data usage.
