Biorhythm Calculator
This biorhythm calculator charts your physical, emotional, and intellectual cycles from your date of birth. Enter your birthday and it plots three sine waves so you can see, at a glance, whether each cycle is riding high, dipping low, or crossing a critical day.
Biorhythm theory holds that life runs on three rhythms that begin at birth and repeat for a lifetime: a Physical cycle of 23 days, an Emotional cycle of 28 days, and an Intellectual cycle of 33 days. It is a fun tool for self-reflection and planning — pick any date and read your profile day by day.
The Three Biorhythm Cycles
Physical — 23 days
Reflects strength, endurance, coordination, and overall physical energy.
Emotional — 28 days
Reflects mood, sensitivity, creativity, and emotional stability.
Intellectual — 33 days
Reflects alertness, memory, analytical thinking, and learning ability.
Each cycle follows a sine wave that swings between a positive (high) and a negative (low) phase. The value for any day comes from the formula sin(2π × days since birth ÷ cycle length), producing a reading from -100% to +100%. When a wave crosses zero it enters a critical day — a transition where you may feel less steady in that area.
How to Use the Calculator
Enter your birthday
Type your birth month, day, and year into the Month / Day / Year fields. The cursor advances automatically as you fill each field.

Understanding Your Results
Each status card and chart point falls into one of six states based on where the cycle sits on its wave:
- High — peak performance in that area.
- Above Average — favorable, energetic conditions.
- Average — a steady, normal state.
- Below Average — take a little extra care.
- Low — a good time to rest and recharge.
- Critical Day — the wave is crossing zero, a transition point to be mindful of.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a biorhythm?
A biorhythm is a recurring cycle that, according to biorhythm theory, begins at birth and influences a part of daily life. This calculator tracks the three classic cycles — physical, emotional, and intellectual — each oscillating between high and low phases.
How is biorhythm calculated from a date of birth?
Each cycle uses the formula sin(2π × days since birth ÷ cycle length), where the cycle length is 23 days for physical, 28 for emotional, and 33 for intellectual. The result is a value from -100% to +100% for any chosen date.
What do the physical, emotional, and intellectual cycles mean?
The physical cycle reflects strength, endurance, and coordination; the emotional cycle reflects mood, sensitivity, and creativity; and the intellectual cycle reflects alertness, memory, and analytical thinking. High phases are considered favorable in that area, low phases a time to ease off.
What is a critical (zero-crossing) day?
A critical day happens when a cycle crosses zero — the transition between its positive and negative phases. In biorhythm theory these are days you may feel less stable or more prone to slips in that area. When two or three cycles cross on the same day, enthusiasts call it a "double" or "triple" critical day, which is relatively rare.
Why do the cycles have lengths of 23, 28, and 33 days?
The 23-day physical and 28-day emotional cycles were proposed by Wilhelm Fliess in the late 1800s based on his observations. The 33-day intellectual cycle was added later by Alfred Teltscher. These three lengths have remained the standard in biorhythm charts ever since.
Are biorhythms scientifically proven?
No. Biorhythm theory is not supported by scientific evidence, and most studies find no reliable link between these cycles and real-world performance. This tool is meant for entertainment and self-reflection only.
Is my birthday stored on a server?
No. Your birthday is saved only in your browser's local storage on your own device, and no data is sent to any server. You can remove it anytime by clearing your browser data.
