What Should I Eat

What Should I Eat

Not sure what should I eat? Spin a random meal idea from world cuisines or your own list, filter by meal, type, diet and taste, then pick up to 10.

What Should I Eat? Let the Picker Decide

What should I eat today? When nothing sounds good and you just want the choice made for you, this random food picker spins up a meal idea in one tap. No sign-up, no app to install — open the page and pick.

Stay in Preset mode to draw from curated dishes across six countries and a global menu, or switch to Custom mode and spin from your own list of go-to meals. Filter by meal time, cuisine type, diet, and taste so every suggestion actually fits your craving.

Private by design: picking runs entirely in your browser, and your history, filters, and excluded dishes are saved only on your device. Only named custom lists are synced to your account if you are signed in — otherwise they stay local too.

How to Use the Food Picker

1

Choose your source

In Preset mode, pick a country for authentic local dishes or leave it on Any Country for a global menu. For Vietnam you can also narrow to a specific city's specialties.

2

Set your filters

Open Filters to refine by meal time (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, dessert), type, diet, and taste. Or switch to Custom mode and type your own foods, one per line.

3

Pick your food

Choose how many ideas you want (1–10), then tap Pick Food or press Space. A fresh set of random dishes appears as cards.

4

Decide or pick again

Like a result? Copy it or save it as a favorite. Not feeling it? Exclude a dish to drop it from future picks, or hit Pick Again for a new shuffle.

Your Own Food List

Switch to Custom mode and type your own options, one per line, to let the picker choose from exactly what's available to you.

Your last 20 picks are kept in a collapsible history with a time stamp, so you can revisit what came up before.

Quick Shortcuts

Press the space bar or Enter to pick without reaching for the button — fast for rapid-fire decisions.

Auto-Detected Country

The picker spots your country and pre-selects it, so local dishes show up first the moment you arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I decide what to eat with this picker?

Set a country and any filters you like, choose how many ideas you want, then tap Pick Food. The tool randomly draws dishes that match your filters and shows them as cards — letting the choice be made for you when you can't decide.

What should I eat for dinner, lunch, or breakfast?

Open Filters and select the meal time — breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, or dessert — and the picker only suggests dishes tagged for that meal. Combine it with a taste or diet filter to get an idea that fits the moment.

Can I use my own list of foods?

Yes. Switch to Custom mode and type your own options, one per line — for example the restaurants near you or the meals you know how to cook. You can save that list under a name to reuse it, and load or delete saved lists later.

How does the random food picker choose?

The picker takes every dish that matches your country, region, and filters (or your custom list), removes any you've excluded, then shuffles and draws the number you asked for. Each pick is independent, so hitting Pick Again can surface different results.

Can I get suggestions for a specific country or city?

Yes. Pick a country to get its authentic dishes, and for Vietnam you can drill down to a specific city's local specialties. Leave the country on Any for a broad, international menu instead.

Can I stop a dish from showing up again?

Yes. Tap the Exclude button on any result card and that dish is dropped from future picks. Your favorites and excluded foods are remembered between visits on the same device.

Is my history and list data private?

Your history, filters, favorites, and excluded dishes are stored only in your own browser. Named custom lists sync to your account if you're signed in, so you can reach them on another device; as a guest they stay on your device as well.
