Travel Budget Planner for Any Trip
The Travel Budget Planner helps you estimate and organize trip expenses before you go. Break your budget into categories like accommodation, food, transportation, and activities to see your total travel cost at a glance.
Set each category as a Daily amount or a Total for the whole trip, then instantly read your spending broken down per day, per person, and per person per day. A visual bar chart shows where your money goes, and you can save multiple trips to compare destinations.

Frequently Asked Questions
What costs should a travel budget include?
The planner starts with eight common categories: accommodation, transportation, food & drinks, activities, local transport, shopping, health & insurance, and other. Cover the big recurring costs (lodging, food, getting around) plus one-time costs (flights, insurance, tickets), and add custom categories for anything specific to your trip.
What's the difference between Daily and Total mode?
Daily mode multiplies your entered amount by the number of trip days — ideal for recurring expenses like food ($50/day for 7 days = $350). Total mode uses the exact amount you enter, best for one-time costs like flights or insurance. You can set the mode separately for each category.
How do I split trip costs per person?
Set the number of travelers in your trip setup. The summary then shows Per Person (total divided by travelers) and Per Person/Day (total divided by travelers and days), so each person's share is calculated automatically.
Can I add my own expense categories?
Yes. Click Add in the Budget Categories section to create a custom category. Name it anything you like — visa fees, souvenirs, tips — and set it to Daily or Total mode. You can remove any category you don't need.
How many trip plans can I save?
You can save up to 20 trip plans. When you go past the limit, the oldest plan is removed automatically. Tap any saved trip to load it back into the planner, or delete the ones you no longer need.
Does it convert between currencies?
No. The tool formats amounts in your selected currency but does not perform real-time conversion. Enter amounts in the currency you plan to spend at your destination. Currency symbols are positioned to local conventions — for example USD as a prefix ($100) and EUR often as a suffix (100 €).
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored locally in your browser using local storage — nothing is sent to any server. If you clear your browser data, your saved trips and settings will be lost.
