Getting Started
Creating your first mind map takes just seconds. Follow these steps to get up and running:
Start with the Central Topic
Your mind map begins with a Central Topic placed in the middle of the canvas. This is your core idea or subject.
Add Child Topics
Click the central topic, then press Tab to add a child topic branching from it.
Add Sibling Topics
Select any child topic and press Enter to add a sibling topic at the same level.

Double-click any topic to edit its text inline.

How do I add new topics?
Select a topic and press Tab to add a child topic, or Enter to add a sibling at the same level. You can also right-click anywhere on the canvas to add a free-floating topic.
How do I move a topic to a different branch?
Drag the topic and drop it onto the target parent topic. The dropped topic becomes a child of the target, and its branch color updates automatically to match.
Can I resize topics?
Yes. Hover over any topic and drag the resize handle in the bottom-right corner. The minimum size is 60px wide and 28px tall. Text wraps automatically within resized topics.
How do I pan the canvas?
Hold the right mouse button and drag. You can also hold Space and drag with the left mouse button, or use the middle mouse button to pan.
How do I select multiple topics?
Hold Ctrl and click topics one by one to add them to your selection. Alternatively, drag with the left mouse button on empty canvas space to draw a selection rectangle around multiple topics at once.
Is my data saved automatically?
Yes — all changes are automatically saved to your browser's local storage and persist between sessions. For an external backup, use File → Export as JSON and save the file to your device.
Can I use this on mobile?
Yes, the app works on tablets and phones with full touch support. Pinch to zoom, tap to select topics, and use the toolbar buttons for all operations.
How do I add notes or links to topics?
Click a topic to open the Format Panel on the right side. Scroll down to the Note and Link sections. Notes appear as an icon on the topic, and links open in a new tab when clicked.
What is Zen Mode?
Zen Mode hides the toolbar and hint bar for a distraction-free editing experience. Click the eye icon in the toolbar to toggle it, or press Escape to exit.
How do I present my mind map?
Click the play button on the toolbar to enter Presentation Mode. Use the arrow keys to step through branches one at a time. Each step zooms into the current branch while dimming the rest for a focused, professional presentation.
