Comparison Chart Maker
The Comparison Chart Maker builds clean, side-by-side comparison tables for products, pricing plans, software, or phone specs — so the differences between your options show up at a glance instead of buried in paragraphs of notes.
Add a column for each item you want to compare and a row for each feature, then fill cells with plain text, a check or cross, or a 1-5 rating. Recolor columns, crown a recommended pick, drag rows into order, and export the finished chart as a PNG. It is built for anyone weighing choices — shoppers, teams evaluating tools, and writers building comparison content.
How to Make a Comparison Chart
Pick a template or start fresh
The tool opens on a ready Product Comparison. Open Templates to switch to Pricing Plans, Software Comparison, or Phone Specs, or edit what is there to fit your own comparison.
Add items and features
Click Add Item to add a column for each thing you are comparing, and Add Feature to add a row for each criterion. Click any header or feature name to rename it.
Fill cells and choose a type
Click a cell to type a value. Hover the cell and use the small arrow to switch its type to Text, Check/Cross, or Rating dots — whichever fits that row best.
Polish and export
Recolor columns, crown your recommended choice, and drag rows into the order that matters. When it looks right, click Export as PNG to download a clean, high-resolution image.
Features
Flexible Rows and Columns
Add or remove comparison items as columns and features as rows, with no fixed limit — the table scrolls sideways when it grows wide.
Three Cell Types
Show each value as plain text, a check/cross for yes-or-no features, or a 1-5 dot rating for qualitative scoring.
Smart Type Sync
Change one cell's type and the other empty cells in that row switch to match, so a whole row is set up in a single click.
Highlight the Winner
Crown a column to give it a subtle tinted background and a "Best" badge so your recommended pick stands out.
Color Coding
Give each column one of 12 colors, shown as a stripe on the header, so readers can tell items apart at a glance.
Drag-and-Drop Reordering
Grab the handle on any feature row and drag it up or down to put the most important criteria on top.
Four Ready-Made Templates
Start fast with Product Comparison, Pricing Plans, Software Comparison, or Phone Specs templates built for common scenarios.
High-Resolution PNG Export
Download your chart as a 2x-scale PNG that hides editing controls automatically for a clean, share-ready image.
Auto-Save
Your work is saved as you go, so you can close the tab and pick up the same chart right where you left off.
Dark Mode
A built-in dark theme keeps the editor easy on the eyes while you build and review your comparison.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make a comparison chart?
Start from the built-in template or open Templates to pick another, then use Add Item for each column and Add Feature for each row. Click cells to fill in values, choose a cell type, and export the result as a PNG when you are done.
How many items can I compare?
There is no fixed limit. Add as many columns (items) and rows (features) as you need — the table simply scrolls horizontally once it grows wider than the screen.
When should I use a comparison chart versus a regular chart?
A comparison chart (a side-by-side table) is best when you are weighing distinct options across the same set of features — like products, plans, or specs. Reach for a bar, line, or pie chart instead when you are plotting numeric data or trends over time rather than comparing choices feature by feature.
How do I change a cell's type?
Hover over any data cell and click the small arrow that appears. A menu lets you switch the cell to Text, Check/Cross, or Rating. Other empty cells in the same row switch to the same type automatically, so you rarely set each one by hand.
Can I highlight the best option?
Yes. Click the crown icon on a column header to add a "Best" badge and a tinted background to that column. You can highlight more than one column if several stand out.
Can I export the comparison chart as an image?
Yes. Click Export as PNG in the toolbar to download a high-resolution image. The export hides all editing buttons so the result looks clean enough to drop straight into documents, slides, or web pages.
Is my comparison data saved and private?
Your chart auto-saves to your own browser's storage, so it is there when you return and stays on your device. If you sign in and enable account sync, a copy is saved to your account so the chart follows you across devices — otherwise nothing is uploaded.
