How to Use
The tool starts with a default Product Comparison template that you can use as-is or customize to fit your specific needs. Follow these steps to create your comparison chart:
Choose a Template
Click the Templates button to select from Product, Pricing, Software, or Phone Specs templates
Add Items
Click "Add Item" to add columns for each thing you want to compare
Add Features
Click "Add Feature" to add rows for criteria or attributes you want to evaluate
Fill in Data
Click any cell to type text, or change the cell type for different formats
Editing Cell Types
Each cell can display data in three different formats to match your content needs. Hover over any data cell and click the small arrow icon to switch between types:
Text
Type any value such as price, description, or specification
Check/Cross
Click to cycle through checkmark, cross, or empty state
Rating
Click dots to set a 1-5 star rating for qualitative comparisons
Customizing Your Chart
- Rename — Click any column header or feature name to edit it directly
- Change colors — Click the color dot on a column header to pick from 12 vibrant colors
- Highlight winner — Click the crown icon to mark a column as the recommended choice
- Reorder rows — Drag the grip handle on the left side of any feature row to reorganize
- Remove items — Use the X button to delete any column or row you don't need
Exporting Your Chart
Click the PNG button in the toolbar to download your comparison chart as a high-resolution image, ready to share or embed in documents and presentations. The export automatically removes all editing controls for a clean, professional result.

There is no hard limit. You can add as many columns (items) and rows (features) as needed. The table will scroll horizontally if it exceeds the screen width, ensuring all your data remains accessible.
Is my data saved?
Yes. All data is automatically saved to your browser's local storage as you work. If you have an account and are logged in, your data will also sync to the server for access across devices.
Can I export my chart?
Yes. Click the PNG button in the toolbar to download your chart as a high-resolution image. The export removes all editing buttons for a clean, professional result ready for presentations or documents.
How do I change a cell's type?
Hover over any data cell and click the small arrow (▾) that appears in the bottom-right corner. A menu will appear with three options: Text, Check/Cross, and Rating. Select the format that best suits your data.
What happens when I change a cell's type?
The selected cell changes immediately. Additionally, other cells in the same row that are still empty will automatically switch to the same type, saving you from changing each one individually. This smart sync feature speeds up your workflow significantly.
Can I highlight the best option?
Yes. Click the crown icon on any column header to add a "Best" highlight badge. The entire column gets a subtle colored background to draw attention. You can highlight multiple columns if needed to show different recommended options.
How do I reorder features?
Hover over a feature row to reveal the drag handle (⋮⋮) on the left side. Click and drag the handle to move the row to a new position. This allows you to prioritize the most important criteria at the top of your comparison.
Is my data private?
All data is stored locally in your browser by default. No comparison data is sent to any external server unless you are logged in and using the sync feature. Your privacy is protected, and you maintain full control over your information.
