Choose Your Blur Effect

Gaussian Blur

A smooth, natural-looking blur effect ideal for faces and backgrounds. Creates a professional, out-of-focus appearance.

Pixelate (Mosaic)

A blocky pixel effect commonly used to censor content. Creates the classic censored look seen in media.

You can draw multiple blur regions on a single image, adjust the intensity for each, and choose between rectangular or elliptical shapes to match the area you need to hide.

Your Data Stays Private

  • No uploads - Your images never leave your device
  • No tracking - We don't collect or store any image data
  • Instant processing - Blur effects are applied in real-time using Canvas API

Features

Two Blur Effects

Gaussian Blur creates a smooth, natural blur by averaging surrounding pixels. It's ideal for blurring faces and backgrounds while maintaining a professional look.

Pixelate replaces areas with blocky pixels (mosaic), commonly used for censoring content in screenshots and videos.

Flexible Region Shapes

Draw rectangular regions for general areas like text blocks, addresses, or license plates.

Use elliptical regions for a more natural fit around faces and circular objects.

Adjustable Intensity

Control the blur strength with the intensity slider (1-40).

  • Lower values create a subtle blur that partially obscures content
  • Higher values completely hide the underlying details

Multiple Regions

Add as many blur regions as needed on a single image. Each region stores its own blur type, shape, and intensity settings, so you can mix Gaussian blur and pixelate effects on the same image.

Undo and Redo

Made a mistake? Use undo to remove the last region, or redo to bring it back. The full undo/redo history is preserved until you start a new action.

Full Resolution Export

Download your blurred image at its original resolution. Choose between PNG (lossless), JPEG (adjustable quality), or WebP format. The blur effects are accurately scaled to match the full-size image.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Blur and Pixelate?

Gaussian Blur smoothly blends pixels together, creating a soft, out-of-focus effect. Pixelate groups pixels into larger blocks (mosaic), creating the classic censored look. Both effectively hide content - choose based on your visual preference.

Can I blur multiple areas on one image?

Yes. You can draw as many blur regions as needed. Each region can have different settings (blur type, shape, and intensity). Simply draw one region, then draw another.

How do I remove a blur region?

Right-click on any blurred area to delete it. If there are overlapping regions, the topmost one is removed first. You can also use the Undo button or Clear All to remove regions.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. All image processing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, ensuring complete privacy.

What image formats are supported?

You can upload JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, and other browser-supported image formats. For download, choose between PNG, JPEG, or WebP.

Will the downloaded image lose quality?

The image is exported at its original full resolution. If you choose PNG format, there is no quality loss. For JPEG and WebP, you can adjust the quality slider (default 92%) to balance file size and quality.

Should I use Rectangle or Ellipse shape?

Use Ellipse for faces, as it naturally matches the oval shape of a head. Use Rectangle for text blocks, license plates, addresses, or any rectangular content you need to hide.
