How to Use Image Color Replace
Follow these simple steps to replace colors in your images with precision and ease.
Upload Your Image
Drag and drop an image onto the upload area, or click to browse your files. Supported formats include JPEG PNG WebP GIF BMP
Pick a Source Color
Click anywhere on the image to select the color you want to replace. The eyedropper will capture the exact color at that pixel, and it will appear in the color replacements list on the right.
Choose a Target Color
Click the color swatch next to the arrow to open the color picker and select your replacement color. Alternatively, check the Transparent option to make the selected color see-through.
Adjust Settings
Use the Tolerance slider to control how similar a pixel must be to the source color to get replaced. A higher tolerance captures more color variations. Enable Edge softening for smoother transitions between replaced and original colors.
Download Your Result
Click PNG to download with transparency preserved, or JPEG for a smaller file without transparency support.
Features
Eyedropper Color Picker
Click directly on your image to sample any color. As you move your cursor, the info bar shows the exact hex code of the color beneath it, making it easy to identify and select the right shade.
Multiple Color Pairs
Replace several colors in one go. Each color pair shows the source color, an arrow, and the target color. Add as many pairs as you need — they all apply simultaneously.
Tolerance Control
The tolerance slider (0–100%) determines how closely a pixel must match the source color. At 0%, only exact matches are replaced. Increasing the tolerance captures similar shades and gradients, which is useful for photographs with subtle color variations.
Edge Softening
When enabled, edge softening creates smooth, anti-aliased transitions at the boundaries of replaced colors. This prevents harsh, jagged edges and produces more natural-looking results.
Transparency Mode
Toggle the Transparent checkbox on any color pair to remove the source color entirely, creating a transparent area. Download as PNG to preserve the transparency.
With Transparency
- Preserves transparent areas

Without Transparency
- Transparent areas become black
- Smaller file size

Frequently Asked Questions
What image formats are supported?
You can upload JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP images. The tool works with any standard image format supported by your browser.
Can I replace more than one color at a time?
Yes. Click on different colors in the image to add multiple color pairs. Each pair replaces independently, and they all apply at the same time.
What does the Tolerance slider do?
Tolerance controls how similar a pixel color must be to the source color for it to be replaced. A low tolerance replaces only very close matches, while a high tolerance captures a broader range of similar shades.
What is Edge softening?
Edge softening creates gradual transitions at the boundaries between replaced and original colors. This produces smoother, more natural results instead of sharp, pixelated edges.
Should I download as PNG or JPEG?
Choose PNG if your image has transparent areas — PNG preserves transparency. Choose JPEG for smaller file sizes when transparency is not needed.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All color replacement processing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.
- 100% client-side processing
- No server uploads or storage
- Complete privacy and security
Is there a file size limit?
There is no strict file size limit, but very large images may process more slowly depending on your device's performance. For best results, images under 10 megapixels work smoothly on most devices.
