Frequently Asked Questions
What image formats are supported?
Currently only JPEG/JPG images are supported. EXIF metadata is part of the JPEG standard, and this tool uses the piexifjs library which is specifically designed for JPEG files.
Not supported PNG, GIF, WebP, and other formats
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
The tool reads files locally using the FileReader API and processes EXIF data client-side, ensuring complete privacy.
Why should I remove EXIF data?
EXIF data can contain sensitive information, especially GPS coordinates that reveal where a photo was taken.
Can I edit GPS coordinates?
Yes. In the Edit tab, you can enter latitude and longitude as decimal values (e.g., 10.762622, 106.660172).
You can also click Get Current Location to use your browser's geolocation to fill in your current coordinates automatically.
What happens to the original file?
The original file is not modified. When you save edits or remove EXIF data, a new file is downloaded with the changes applied.
Your original image remains unchanged
Can I process multiple files at once?
Yes. Upload multiple JPEG files and use the batch actions in the Remove tab to strip EXIF or GPS data from all files simultaneously.
Each processed file is downloaded separately with the changes applied.
