Plant Watering Schedule

Plant Watering Schedule

Track a watering schedule for your indoor plants. Add each plant with its own frequency and see what's overdue, due today, or coming up next.

Plant Watering Schedule for Every Houseplant

A plant watering schedule keeps your indoor plants healthy by tracking exactly when each one needs water. Add every plant with its own watering frequency, and the tool shows you at a glance which plants are overdue, due today, or coming up next.

Every plant has different needs — a Monstera may want water weekly while a cactus is happy every few weeks. This tracker holds them all in one place, so you stop guessing watering days and stop losing track when plants live in different rooms.

Saved in your browser: your plants are stored locally and ready the next time you visit. No account or sign-up is needed to use the tool.

Who it's for

  • Indoor plant owners who want healthy plants without guessing when to water.
  • New plant parents who need a starting point for each species' watering frequency.
  • Busy people who forget watering days and want a simple visual reminder.

How to Use the Watering Schedule

1

Add a plant

Tap Add Plant, then pick a Quick Preset such as Monstera or Snake Plant to auto-fill the name and recommended frequency — or leave it on Custom and enter your own.

2

Personalize and set frequency

Choose an icon and color, set the Watering Frequency in days (1 to 90), and optionally add a Location and Notes. Tap Add to save.

3

Water and check off

When a plant needs water, tap its Water button. The button switches to Done and the next watering date is recalculated from the frequency you set.

4

Track status at a glance

The summary bar counts Overdue, Due Today, and Upcoming plants. Use the filter tabs — All, Overdue, Today, Upcoming — to focus on what needs attention now.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the watering schedule work?

When you add a plant you set a watering frequency, such as every 7 days. Each time you tap Water, the tool records the date and calculates the next watering date. If that date passes, the plant shows as overdue.

How often should I water my plants?

It depends on the species and conditions. The presets give a sensible starting point — ferns and basil every 2 to 3 days, leafy plants like Monstera and Pothos around weekly, and succulents or cactus every 2 to 3 weeks. Adjust the frequency to match your home, then let the schedule track each plant from there.

How do I know when a plant needs water?

Each plant shows a clear status: Overdue (with days past due), Due Today, or Upcoming (with days remaining). The summary bar and the Overdue and Today tabs make it easy to see which plants need watering without checking each one.

What happens if I forget to water for several days?

The plant shows as overdue with the exact number of days past due, and it moves to the top of the list. As soon as you tap Water, the schedule resets and counts forward from today's date.

Can I change a plant's watering frequency later?

Yes. Tap the edit (pencil) icon on any plant to change its frequency, name, icon, color, location, or notes at any time. Use the trash icon to remove a plant, with a confirmation step first.

Does watering frequency change between winter and summer?

Yes. Most indoor plants need less water in winter when growth slows and more in summer. The form shows a hint for the current season as a reminder; a common rule of thumb is to reduce frequency in winter and increase it in summer, then adjust based on how your plants respond.

Is my data saved if I close the browser?

Yes. Your plants are stored in your browser and will be there when you return — no account is required. Clearing your browser data will remove the saved plants. If you are signed in, your schedule can also sync to your account so it follows you across devices.

Can I use the schedule on my phone?

Yes. The tool is fully responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktops, so you can add a plant or tap Water wherever you are.
