What Is the Personality Type Test?
This personality type test sorts you into one of 16 personality types based on how you prefer to direct your energy, take in information, make decisions, and organize your life. Answer 32 short statements and your four-letter type is calculated instantly — no sign-up, no email.
Rather than forcing you into rigid boxes, the test measures where you sit on four sliding scales. That combination of leanings produces your type along with a clear picture of your natural strengths and the areas where you have the most room to grow.
The Four Dichotomies
Your type is built from four either/or preferences. Each one is measured by its own set of statements, and your result shows a percentage between the two poles:
- Extraversion (E) vs Introversion (I) — where you focus your energy: the outer world or your inner world.
- Sensing (S) vs Intuition (N) — how you take in information: through concrete facts or patterns and possibilities.
- Thinking (T) vs Feeling (F) — how you make decisions: with logic or with values and people in mind.
- Judging (J) vs Perceiving (P) — how you approach life: with structure and plans or with flexibility and spontaneity.
Putting one letter from each pair together gives a four-letter code such as INTJ or ENFP — one of the 16 possible types.
The 16 Types at a Glance
The 16 types are commonly grouped into four families that share a broad outlook. You can take the test to find your own, or tap any type on the intro screen to read its full profile first:
- Analysts — INTJ, INTP, ENTJ, ENTP: rational, strategic and curious.
- Diplomats — INFJ, INFP, ENFJ, ENFP: empathetic, idealistic and people-focused.
- Sentinels — ISTJ, ISFJ, ESTJ, ESFJ: practical, dependable and orderly.
- Explorers — ISTP, ISFP, ESTP, ESFP: spontaneous, observant and hands-on.
How to Take the Test
The test takes about five minutes and needs no account. You rate a series of short statements, and your type appears the moment you finish.
Start the test
Press Take the Test on the intro screen to begin the 32 statements.
Rate each statement
For each statement, choose how much you agree on a five-point scale: Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, or Strongly Disagree. Selecting an answer advances you automatically.
Revise if needed
A progress bar shows how far you have gone. Use the Back button to return to the previous statement — your earlier choice stays highlighted so you can change it.
See your result
After the last statement, your four-letter type appears with its nickname, family, a trait breakdown, strengths, growth areas and ideal careers.
Reading Your Result
Your result page brings together everything in one profile card:
- Your type — the four-letter code, its nickname, and its family (Analysts, Diplomats, Sentinels or Explorers).
- Trait breakdown — four bars showing your percentage on each dichotomy, so you can see how strong each preference is.
- Strengths and growth areas — what tends to come naturally to your type and where it can struggle.
- Ideal careers — fields that often suit your type, plus a short piece of growth advice tailored to you.
From there you can press Download Image to save your full profile as a picture, or Retake Test to start over with different answers.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many questions are in the test?
There are 32 statements, eight for each of the four dichotomies. Most people finish in about five minutes.
Is this personality test free and no sign-up?
Yes. The test is completely free with no account, login or email required. Open the page, take the test, and read your full result right away.
What do the four letters (E/I, S/N, T/F, J/P) mean?
Each letter is your preference on one scale: E or I (Extraversion/Introversion), S or N (Sensing/Intuition), T or F (Thinking/Feeling), and J or P (Judging/Perceiving). Together they form one of the 16 type codes, such as INFP or ESTJ.
What do the percentages on the result mean?
Each dichotomy is a scale, not a switch. The percentage shows how strongly you lean toward one side. For example, "Introversion 70%" means your answers leaned clearly introverted, while 55% would mean a much milder preference.
Can I change an answer or get a different type if I retake it?
Yes to both. Use the Back button to revise the previous statement before moving on. And if you retake the test and answer differently, your scores change — so you may land on a different type, especially when some preferences were close to the middle. The Retake Test button lets you start over anytime.
Can I save or share my result?
Yes. On the result screen, press Download Image to save your full profile as a PNG picture you can keep or share with others.
How accurate is this 16-type test? Is it the same as the MBTI?
The test is inspired by the well-known 16-type model but is not the official MBTI instrument and not a certified psychological assessment. It is designed for self-reflection and entertainment, so treat your result as a helpful starting point rather than a definitive label.
Is my data saved or shared?
No. The entire test runs in your browser. Your answers and result are never uploaded to a server, stored, or shared with third parties.
