Kaleidoscope Simulator

Kaleidoscope Simulator

Draw on a canvas and watch your strokes mirror into symmetric, mandala-like patterns. Adjust segments, palettes, brush, and mirror, or let auto-draw create them.

Kaleidoscope Generator That Turns Your Strokes Into Symmetry

This kaleidoscope generator mirrors every line you draw around a central point, so a simple swipe instantly blooms into a perfectly symmetric, mandala-like pattern. Draw freely on the dark canvas and watch your motions repeat across every segment in real time.

Pick how many mirror segments you want, choose a color palette, and tune the brush, opacity, and mirror reflection to shape the look. Prefer to sit back? Switch on auto-draw and let organic spiral movements paint hypnotic patterns for you, then save any creation as a PNG.

Private by design: every stroke is drawn locally on an HTML5 canvas in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and your artwork stays on your screen until you choose to save it.

How to Use the Kaleidoscope Simulator

1

Draw on the canvas

Click and drag with your mouse, or touch and drag on mobile, anywhere on the dark canvas. Each stroke is replicated around the center with rotational symmetry, creating kaleidoscope patterns instantly.

2

Customize the look

Open the Controls panel in the corner to set the Symmetry (6, 8, 10, 12, or 16 segments), pick a Palette, adjust Brush Size and Opacity, and toggle Mirror reflection on or off.

3

Try Auto Draw

Press Auto Draw to let the simulator paint organic, spiraling patterns on its own. Use the Auto Speed slider to control how quickly new strokes are generated.

4

Save or start over

Click Screenshot to download your canvas as a PNG image, or use Clear to wipe the canvas and begin a fresh design.

Features

Rotational Symmetry Engine

Every stroke is replicated across all segments with precise rotational symmetry, turning simple movements into complex, balanced patterns.

Flexible Symmetry Control

Choose 6, 8, 10, 12, or 16 segments. Lower counts make bold, geometric shapes; higher counts create intricate, mandala-like detail.

Mirror Reflection

Toggle mirror reflection within each segment to flip your strokes for the classic, richer kaleidoscope look, or turn it off for rotation-only patterns.

Six Color Palettes

Switch between Rainbow, Ocean, Sunset, Forest, Neon, and Pastel themes. Colors advance automatically with each new stroke.

Brush & Opacity Control

Adjust brush size from 1 to 12 and opacity from 20% to 100%. Changes take effect immediately on every new stroke.

Auto Draw Mode

Let the simulator create patterns with organic, spiraling movements and adjustable speed, producing a unique design every time.

PNG Export

Save your kaleidoscope creations as PNG images with a single click, captured at your canvas resolution.

Touch & Dark Canvas

Draw with your finger on mobile against an immersive dark background, with a collapsible controls panel that stays out of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a kaleidoscope create symmetry?

A real kaleidoscope uses mirrors arranged around a center to reflect an image many times, producing a symmetric pattern. This simulator recreates that by replicating each stroke you draw around the canvas center, and optionally flipping it, so simple lines turn into balanced, mirrored designs.

How do I change the number of segments or mirrors?

Open the Controls panel and choose a Symmetry value of 6, 8, 10, 12, or 16. That number sets how many times each stroke is repeated around the center. Six segments give bold, spaced-out shapes, while sixteen create much more intricate, detailed patterns.

What does the Mirror toggle do?

When Mirror is ON, each segment both rotates and flips your stroke, doubling the complexity and producing the classic kaleidoscope reflection. Turn it OFF for simpler rotation-only patterns.

How does Auto Draw work?

Auto Draw moves an invisible brush in organic spiral patterns around the canvas center, varying its radius and angle with natural-looking curves and changing colors periodically. You can adjust the speed and every other setting while it runs.

How do I save the kaleidoscope image?

Click the Screenshot button to download your current canvas as a PNG image. The export captures the full canvas at your screen's native resolution, so it stays crisp.

Can I use the kaleidoscope generator on mobile?

Yes. The simulator fully supports touch input, so you can draw with your finger and adjust every control from the panel. The interface adapts to smaller screens automatically.

Is my artwork stored or uploaded anywhere?

No. All drawing happens entirely in your browser using the HTML5 canvas, and nothing is sent to any server. Your creations exist only on your screen until you save them as a PNG.
