Fake hacking screen: mash any keys and realistic code streams onto a dark terminal. Switch themes and code sources, paste your own code, and trigger Access Granted popups.

Hacker Typer — Fake Hacking Screen Simulator

Hacker Typer is a fake hacking screen that turns random key presses into realistic-looking code on a dark terminal — just like the hackers in the movies. Mash any keys and lines of authentic code stream onto the screen, even though you are not typing anything real.

It is built purely for fun and dramatic effect: prank a friend into thinking you broke into a system, record a convincing "hacking" scene for a video, or add tech atmosphere to a presentation. Pick a theme, choose a code source, and start hammering the keyboard.

Private by design: this is a visual simulator only. Everything runs in your browser — no real hacking happens, nothing is sent to a server, and any custom code you paste never leaves your device.

How to Use Hacker Typer

1

Focus the terminal

Click (or tap) anywhere on the dark terminal screen so it has keyboard focus. On a phone, just tapping the screen is enough to start typing.

2

Mash any keys

Press any keys on your keyboard and pre-written code appears on screen — the actual keys you hit do not matter. Keep typing to fill the screen and look like a fast hacker.

3

Trigger Access popups

Press F2 for a fullscreen ACCESS GRANTED banner or F3 for ACCESS DENIED. Press any key to dismiss it, or it fades on its own.

4

Tweak the look

Press Esc to open Settings, where you can switch themes, pick a code source, change typing speed, and toggle sound, scan lines, and auto-run.

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Esc — open or close the Settings panel
  • F2 — show the ACCESS GRANTED popup
  • F3 — show the ACCESS DENIED popup
  • F4 — reset the terminal and clear all code
  • F5 — toggle auto-run, so the code types itself

On Mobile

No keyboard? Use the action bar at the bottom of the screen. Its buttons open Settings, fire the ACCESS GRANTED / ACCESS DENIED popups, reset the terminal, and toggle auto-run — the same actions as the keyboard shortcuts. Tap anywhere on the terminal to type code.

Features

Type-to-Hack Terminal

5 Color Themes

Switch between Matrix green, retro Amber, cool Cyan, alert Red, and a clean Classic editor look to match your hacker vibe.

7 Code Sources

Choose the default Hacker feed of fake network scans, or stream real C, JavaScript, Python, SQL, or x86 Assembly code.

Paste Your Own Code

Pick the Custom source, paste any snippet into the box, and your own code is what appears as you type.

ACCESS GRANTED / DENIED

Drop a dramatic fullscreen ACCESS GRANTED or ACCESS DENIED banner on cue with F2 and F3 (or the action-bar buttons).

Adjustable Typing Speed

Set how many characters appear per keystroke, from 1 for slow drama to 10 for a furious wall of code.

Hands-Free Auto-Run

Toggle auto-run and the terminal types itself at a chosen interval from 30ms to 200ms — ideal for screen recordings and background displays.

Mechanical Key Sounds

Turn on synthesized clicky keyboard sounds, with distinct rising and falling tones for the ACCESS popups.

CRT Scan Lines

Enable retro scan lines and a glowing text overlay for an authentic old-monitor look, or switch them off for a clean screen.

Mobile Action Bar

A bottom action bar mirrors every shortcut, so the simulator works fully on phones and tablets without a keyboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Hacker Typer real hacking?

No. Hacker Typer is a visual simulator for entertainment only. It displays pre-written code snippets when you press keys — it does not access any network, system, or account, and it does not hack anything.

How does Hacker Typer work?

The page holds a block of code (a fake hacker feed by default, or a real language you choose). Each key you press reveals the next few characters of that code, so it looks like you are typing it live. The keys themselves are ignored — only the rhythm of your typing shows up on screen.

How do I get the "Access Granted" or "Access Denied" popup?

Press F2 for ACCESS GRANTED or F3 for ACCESS DENIED. On mobile, tap the matching button in the bottom action bar. The banner clears on its own after a moment, or press any key to dismiss it instantly.

Can I use my own code?

Yes. Open Settings with Esc, choose Custom as the code source, paste your code into the box, and click Apply. Your snippet is then what appears each time you type.

What is auto-run mode?

Auto-run makes the terminal type code by itself, with no key presses. Toggle it with F5 or the action-bar button and pick an interval from 30ms to 200ms in Settings. Pressing any key yourself stops auto-run so you can take over.

How do I go fullscreen?

The simulator already fills the page with an immersive dark terminal. For a true edge-to-edge view that hides your browser bars, press your browser's fullscreen key (F11 on most desktops) — perfect before pranking someone or starting a recording.

Is it safe, or a virus?

It is completely safe. Hacker Typer is just a web page that animates text — there is nothing to install, it cannot harm your device, and no code is sent to or run on any server. Everything stays in your browser.

How do I prank a friend with it?

Open the page, go fullscreen, and pick a dramatic theme like Matrix or Red. Mash the keyboard to flood the screen with code, then hit F2 for ACCESS GRANTED at the big reveal. Turn on sound and scan lines for extra effect.
