What is Image Resizer?
Image Resizer is a powerful browser-based tool that enables you to change image dimensions quickly and precisely. Whether you need exact pixel dimensions for a website, percentage scaling for batch processing, or the perfect size for social media platforms, this tool handles it all—without uploading your files to any server.
Three Ways to Resize
Pixel Mode
Percent Mode
Preset Mode
Smart Fit Modes
When your image doesn't match the target aspect ratio, choose how it should fit within the frame:
Stretch
Fills the exact target size by stretching the image to match dimensions.
- Exact size match
- May distort proportions
- No cropping or padding
Cover
Scales and crops to fill the frame completely without empty space.
- No empty space
- Maintains aspect ratio
- Center-crops overflow
Contain
Fits the entire image inside the frame with customizable background color.
- Full image visible
- Maintains aspect ratio
- Custom background color
How to Use Image Resizer
Upload Your Images
Add images by dragging and dropping them onto the upload area, clicking to browse your files, or pasting directly from your clipboard. You can upload up to 50 images at once for efficient batch processing.
Choose Your Resize Method
Select one of the three resize modes based on your needs:
- Pixel — Type the exact width and height you need. Toggle the lock icon to maintain or unlock the aspect ratio
- Percent — Use the slider or type a percentage. Quick-select buttons let you jump to common values like 25%, 50%, or 200%
- Presets — Browse presets by category (Social Media, Banners, Avatars, Video, Web, Print) and click to apply instantly
Adjust Fit Mode
If the target dimensions have a different aspect ratio than your image, select a fit mode. Use Cover to crop and fill the frame completely, or Contain to fit the entire image inside with a background color of your choice.
Configure Output
Choose the output format (Original, JPEG, PNG, or WebP) and adjust the quality slider for JPEG and WebP formats. The estimated file size updates in real time to help you find the right balance between quality and file size.
Download
Click Download to save your resized image. For batch processing, all images are automatically packaged into a single ZIP file for convenient downloading.
Features
Precise Dimension Control
Enter exact pixel values for width and height with professional-grade precision. Lock the aspect ratio to resize proportionally, or unlock it for custom dimensions. Use the swap button to quickly rotate between landscape and portrait orientations.

Frequently Asked Questions
What image formats are supported?
You can upload JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and SVG images. For output, choose between the original format, JPEG, PNG, or WebP depending on your needs.
- Input formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG
- Output formats: Original, JPEG, PNG, WebP
What's the difference between Cover and Contain?
Cover scales the image to completely fill the target area, cropping any parts that extend beyond the frame. This ensures no empty space but may cut off portions of your image.
Contain scales the image to fit entirely within the target area, adding background padding where needed. This preserves the entire image but may create empty space around it.
Use Contain for: Product photos, artwork, or any image where you need to preserve the entire composition.
How many images can I resize at once?
You can batch resize up to 50 images simultaneously. All images are processed with the same settings and automatically packaged into a single ZIP file for convenient downloading.
Will resizing reduce my image quality?
Downscaling (making images smaller) generally preserves quality well with minimal visible degradation.
Upscaling (making images larger) can cause blurriness and pixelation since new pixels must be interpolated. Use the "Don't enlarge" option to prevent this quality loss.
For JPEG and WebP formats, use the quality slider to control the compression level and find the optimal balance between file size and visual quality.
What does "Don't enlarge" do?
When enabled, images smaller than the target size will keep their original dimensions instead of being stretched larger. This prevents quality loss from upscaling.
For example, if you set a target size of 1920×1080 but upload an image that's 800×600, enabling "Don't enlarge" will keep it at 800×600 rather than stretching it to 1920×1080 (which would cause significant quality degradation).
When should I turn off smooth resize?
Disable smooth resize for pixel art, icons, or any image where you want to maintain sharp, crisp pixel edges. Smooth resizing applies anti-aliasing which can blur these types of images.
Keep it enabled for photographs and illustrations where smooth gradients and natural-looking scaling are desired.
- Disable for: Pixel art, retro game graphics, icons, QR codes
- Enable for: Photographs, digital art, illustrations, portraits
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All resizing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, and no data is sent to any server.
This means:
- Complete privacy and security for your images
- No internet connection required after the page loads
- Faster processing since there's no upload/download time
- No file size limits imposed by server restrictions
